Hacking the usability

One of the biggest Ukrainian e-commerce platform of electronics reached out to redesign their current website and to make it more mobile-friendly and usable. It is a robust e-commerce platform with several thousand of items and complicated categorization, that required tailored solutions.

The challenge

Our task was to rethink the UX of the current website keeping its skeleton. A large group of users shopped from their mobile phones and that is why it was essntial to create seamless shopping experience for all sizes oof screens. Some parts of the website and the flows needed to be simplified and become more straightforward, while others added some functionality.

Our approach

We used a mobile-first approach, starting with the mobile UX an dlater moving on to the desktop. Our tight collaboration and communication with the client played a huge role in a success of the project. Client shared helpful insights into user feedback, metrics and problematic parts. We could brainstorm and come up with tailored UX solutions and immediately test them with the users and client’s team. Process was very iterative and agile.

Our solution

We strived to create catchy, trendy, and easy to use interface. Keeping in mind the main objective of the redesign - to make the design more user-friendly, we enlarged the images in the catalog, restructured the pages, and simplified the check-out flow. The floating cart at the desktop interface was a cherry on top of the cake.
